WARSAW (AFX) - Share prices closed higher, although they had pared most of their gains late in the day's session after the Turkish bourse turned lower, Puls Biznesu reported.
The WIG20 closed up 0.38 pct on the day at 2,847.82, or up 0.58 pct on the week. Earlier today, it was as much as 1 pct higher.
The appreciation of the zloty and the rise in European stock markets supported the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
Bioton shares closed at 18.8 zlotys or 4.81 eur, up 11.6 pct on the week, after the company signed an agreement to buy a stake in the Ukrainian insulin producer Indar.
KGHM closed at 78.2 zlotys, up 9.4 pct on the week, helped by record copper prices helped the company.
