SAN FRANCISCO (AFX) -- MetLife Inc. has amended its by-laws on majority voting in board member elections, according to a company filing late Friday with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The change means that any incumbent director in an uncontested election who receives a greater number of votes 'withheld' than votes 'for' will be required to resign immediately. The board's governance committee will then decide within 90 days whether to accept the resignation. For more information and to contact AFX: www.afxnews.com and www.afxpress.com
