SAN FRANCISCO (AFX) -- Apple Computer Inc. shares rose $2.90, or about 5%, to $61.62 Wednesday after the company released a software upgrade that will set a maximum volume limit on the company's iPod and iPod Nano media players. The software is available as a free download from Apple's website. The move comes as Apple faces a class action lawsuit that claims iPods can cause hearing loss because of the devices' headphone sound levels. This story was supplied by MarketWatch.
