VIENNA (AFX) - Chinese Finance Minister Jin Renqing said China and the EU should cooperate closely to resolve any differences that still exist between them on economic issues.
'It is very possible that we've still got questions and issues that we need to further talk about and have dialogue on,' Jin told journalists on the sidelines of the ASEM meeting of Asian and EU finance ministers.
He said such meetings offer a good framework for such further dialogue.
Jin said last year's deal on textiles trade showed how the EU and China could cooperate.
'Last year we have struck a very good solution for the textile issue. That is an example,' he said.
Jin said China has always had very good relations with Europe and annual trade flows between the two sides now exceed 200 bln usd.
'And in politics we share a lot of common ground,' he said.
He did not comment on whether finance ministers had discussed China's exchange rate policy. steve.whitehouse@afxnews.com sw/pp COPYRIGHT Copyright AFX News Limited 2005. All rights reserved.
