ATHENS (AFX) - Greek mobile operator Cosmote said that as of June 1 it will cut charges for fixed-line calls to its mobile network to 0.12 eur from 0.145 eur per minute.
However, the company added that its 30-second minimum duration charge remains, which should soften the impact of the cut.
Brokers said that fixed-to-mobile revenues account for about 10 pct of revenues while, other things been equal, the cut would result in a 1.5 pct decline in the top line and 3 pct decline in EBITDA.
They added that this is the fifth time that Cosmote has reduced its termination charges since 2003, while the new tariffs are lower than the European average.
The development was widely expected and communicated by management, and it is incorporated into managements guidance as well as analysts estimates.
