
NEW YORK (AFX) - NEW YORK (AFX) -- Bombardier, the Montreal aerospace and transportation company, reported first-quarter net income fell 56% on 6.1% lower revenue.
Net income fell to US$24 million, or a penny a share, from $55 million, or 3 cents, in the year-earlier period.
Earnings from continuing operations before special items were 2 cents versus a penny.
Revenue eased to $3.53 billion from $3.76 billion.
Earnings from continuing operations before special items rose 5.8% in aerospace, to $55 million from $52 million, and 6.8% in transport, to $47 million from $44 million.
Revenue was nearly flat in aerospace, at $1.94 billion, and declined 13% in transport, to $1.59 billion from $1.82 billion.
