RACINE, Wis. (AFX) - Outdoor recreation products maker Johnson Outdoors Inc. said Friday said it will temporarily close its Binghamton, N.Y., plant because of flood damage.
Eight counties in New York were declared federal disaster areas after heavy rains swamped a large swath of the region last week. The company said it does not yet know the full extent of the damage and expects insurance coverage to begin after about $1.2 million in losses are incurred.
Johnson's finished goods warehouse in Binghamton was unaffected by the floods and remains open.
