WASHINGTON (AFX) - Adelphia Communications Corp. said Wednesday that a bankruptcy court has extended the voting deadline for the company's reorganization plan to September from July.
Last month, the court had extended the voting deadline to July from June 19.
Under the plan, the Greenwood Village, Colo.-based cable company will sell all of its assets to Time Warner Inc.'s NY Cable and Comcast Corp.
The voting deadline to accept or reject the plan was previously set for July 26, and in the case of securities held through an intermediary, July 21. Under the court's extension order, the new deadline will be Sept. 12, and in the case of securities held through an intermediary, Sept. 7, according to a filing Wednesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Adelphia, which has been operating under Chapter 11 protection for four years, agreed to sell itself to the two cable giants last year.
