MONTREAL (AFX) - Eight Canadians were among the fatalities of an Israeli bomb attack in South Lebanon, Canada's foreign affairs minister said Sunday.
The Canadian government was seeking further details, Peter MacKay told CTV.
Police in the Lebanese village of Aitarun, close to the frontier with Israel, said a couple holding both Canadian and Lebanese nationality and their three children, who arrived in Lebanon 10 days ago for a vacation, died when Israeli jets repeatedly attacked the village.
Two others who died were sisters of the man. Police said the sisters held only Lebanese nationality. newsdesk@afxnews.com afp/hjp COPYRIGHT Copyright AFX News Limited 2005. All rights reserved.
