WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AFX) - Hanesbrands Inc., a T-shirt and underwear maker and unit of Sara Lee Corp., on Tuesday named seven people to become members of its board of directors when the unit is spun off and taken public in September.
Board members include Hanesbrands Chairman Lee A. Chaden and CEO Richard A. Noll. Other members include Harry Allyn Cockrell, 56, director and shareholder of Hong Kong investment company Pacific Tiger Group Ltd.; Charles W. Coker, 73, former chairman, president and CEO of packaging company Sonoco Products Co.; Bobby J. Griffin, 57, president, international operations, for truck leasing and transportation services company Ryder System Inc.; James C. Johnson, 54, vice president, corporate secretary and assistant general counsel for Boeing Co..
Other directors will include J. Patrick Mulcahy, 62, vice chairman of Energizer Holdings Inc.; Alice M. Peterson, 53, founder and president of ethics education company Syrus Global; and Andrew J. Schindler, 61, retired chairman of Reynolds American Inc.
Hanesbrands includes the Hanes, Champion, Playtex, Bali, Just My Size, barely there and Wonderbra labels.
Sara Lee shares fell 5 cents to $16.67 during afternoon trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
