POCATELLO, Idaho (AFX) - Semiconductor holding company AMIS Holdings Inc. said Monday it agreed to buy certain chip businesses of NanoAmp Solutions Inc. for about $21 million in cash.
San Jose, Calif.-based NanoAmp is a privately held fabless semiconductor company. Its products are used by wireless communication, industrial, medical and networking companies.
AMIS said the businesses it is buying mainly consist of designs still in development, although one of the businesses is providing revenue expected to total about $7 million to $8 million in 2006.
The purchase is expected to be neutral to adjusted earnings per share in 2006, and accretive by a penny per share in 2007, the company said.
The deal is expected to close during the third quarter.
AMIS shares slipped 2 cents, to $9.36 in aftermarket trading on the INET electronic exchange, from their close on the Nasdaq at $9.38.
