WASHINGTON (AFX) - The U.S. Air Force on Monday said it awarded a $780 million contract to a division of Boeing Co. to supply four C-17 cargo jets to the Royal Australian Air Force.
The contract, awarded to McDonnell Douglas Corp., will be completed in phases with the first aircraft due in November, the second in May 2007, the third in January 2008 and fourth in February 2008.
The U.S. Air Force on Friday announced that it had awarded Boeing, the world's largest aerospace company, a contract modification worth $80.7 million for aircraft maintenance and support for the Royal Australian Air Force's C-17 cargo jets.
Shares of Chicago-based Boeing fell $1.49 to close at $77.42 on the New York Stock Exchange.
