ATLANTA (AFX) - Video Display Corp., a maker of cathode ray tubes for TVs and computer monitors, said Wednesday it acquired the assets, manufacturing and marketing operations of privately held Hobson Bros. Inc. of Chicago.
Financial terms weren't disclosed.
The Hobson product lines will be will be merged into the company's Southwest Vacuum Group in Stone Mountain, Ga. Hobson Bros., founded in Chicago in 1946, supplies components including molded plastic and rubber parts, wire assemblies and stamped metal parts primarily for the display industry.
'By bringing Hobson's capabilities into VDC, we are now able to assure our customer base long-term support of numerous critical display components,' said Ron Ordway, CEO of Video Display.
Video Display shares rose a penny to close earlier at $7.83 on the Nasdaq.
