(AFX) - Ford Motor Co. announced Friday that it would cut its fourth-quarter production by 21 percent from last year. The plants that will experience temporary shutdowns and the vehicles they make:

-- CHICAGO: Ford Five Hundred, Ford Freestyle, Mercury Montego
-- WIXOM ASSEMBLY (Wixom, Mich.): Lincoln Town Car
-- LOUISVILLE ASSEMBLY (Louisville, Ky.): Ford Explorer, Mercury Mountaineer
-- KENTUCKY TRUCK (Louisville, Ky.): Ford F-Series pickup
-- MICHIGAN TRUCK (Wayne, Mich.): Ford Expedition, Lincoln Navigator
-- TWIN CITIES (St. Paul, Minn.): Ford Ranger
-- KANSAS CITY ASSEMBLY (Kansas City, Mo.): F-Series
-- NORFOLK ASSEMBLY (Norfolk, Va.): F-Series
