NEW YORK (AFX) - Nortel Networks Corp. said Tuesday it has won U.S. contracts including a support services program for the Department of Homeland Security.
The Toronto-based information technology firm said it is among 25 companies to receive a contract award with the Enterprise Acquisition Gateway and Leading Edge Solutions (EAGLE) program, a seven-year, multibillion dollar initiative designed to enhance the department's information technology services.
Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Through its government services unit, Nortel will provide management support to Homeland Security in the areas of information technology policy and planning including security, training, and business and program management office support.
The company also said the government services unit renewed a five-year agreement worth $1.6 million with the Fairfax County, Va. Circuit Court. Nortel will continue to provide services in support of the Fairfax County Courts Automated Recording System.
Shares in Nortel rose 2 cents to close at $2.09 on the New York Stock Exchange.
