WASHINGTON (AFX) - The U.S. Air Force on Tuesday awarded a Boeing Co. unit a contract worth about $23.3 million to remanufacture the flight control surfaces for air refueling aircraft.
The three-year contract, awarded to McDonnell Douglas Corp., is for KC-135 Stratotankers, which provide aerial refueling support to U.S. military and allied nations' aircraft, according to the Air Force.
Shares of Boeing, the world's largest aerospace company, rose 32 cents to close at $76.95 on the New York Stock Exchange.
