HUNT VALLEY, Md. (AFX) - Military contractor United Industrial Corp. said Wednesday it received an $11.7 million contract related to its Shadow 200 unmanned aircraft systems.
Under the Army-awarded contract, United Industrial's AAI Corp. unit will work on a new tactical data link component for the Shadow system, which has been operating in Iraq since military operations began in 2003.
The data link system will connect manned and unmanned intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance systems, AAI Vice President Steven E. Reid said in a statement.
United Industrial shares closed up 17 cents at $51.44 on the New York Stock Exchange.
