WASHINGTON (AFX) - The U.S. Agency for International Development has selected four contractor teams comprised of small businesses and industry heavyweights to compete for up to $300 million in technology awards.
BearingPoint Inc., a management and technology consulting firm, leads one team that also includes technology titans Northrop Grumman Corp., IBM Corp. and CACI International Inc.
Another team-- led by Rockville, Md.-based information technology outfit AINS Inc.-- includes Computer Sciences Corp. and an Oracle subsidiary.
Development InfoStructure, an Arlington, Va.-based IT consulting firm, teamed with Blue Bell, Pa.-based technology services and computer hardware firm Unisys Corp.
Systems Research and Applications Corp., a subsidiary of technology services and consulting provider SRA International Inc., leads the final contractor team.
The five-year contracts, which include everything from database design and administration, to software design and customization, and technical support and training, were awarded earlier this month and confirmed Monday by USAID.
In May, the agency selected five different contractor teams to compete for up to $4 billion in technology pacts over the next five years, and some of the same companies are involved in both awards.
Shares IBM rose 44 cents to close at $80.32 Monday, while BearingPoint was up 8 cents to end at $8, and SRA rose 64 cents to $27.22, all on the New York Stock Exchange.
Shares of Unisys rose 4 cents to $5.20, Computer Sciences Corp. rose 43 cents to $47.03, Northrop Grumman was up 50 cents to $65.90, and CACI rose $1.02 to $52.36, also on the NYSE.
Shares of Oracle rose 13 cents to close at $15.54 on the Nasdaq.
