WASHINGTON (AFX) - The U.S. Air Force on Wednesday awarded a $49 million contract to Lockheed Martin Corp., the nation's largest military contractor, for integration work on A-10 fighter jets.
The pact includes any necessary modifications, system tests and evaluations, project management, system engineering, and facilities, according to the Air Force.
Work will be complete in September 2010.
Shares of Lockheed Martin, based in Bethesda, Md., dipped 30 cents to end at $85.14 on the New York Stock Exchange.
