FRANKFURT (AFX) - Deutsche Postbank AG chief executive Wulf von Schimmelmann reiterated the bank's 2006 targets including those for attracting new business, saying there are no reasons at the end of the third quarter for the bank to revise official targets or internal goals downwards.
Germany's largest retail bank previously said it aims to earn 10-12 bln eur in new business for construction loans this year. In addition, the bank targets winning over 900,000 new retail customers.
'We have always achieved our goals,' von Schimmelmann said in an interview with AFX News partner dpa-AFX.
Von Schimmelmann also said the bank is well on its way of achieving its 2008 goal of a 20 pct return on equity before taxes. Tyler.Sitte@afxnews.com ts/hjp COPYRIGHT Copyright AFX News Limited 2006.
