GENEVA (AFX) - Goods inspections group SGS Ltd announced that its chief executive Dan Kerpelman has resigned with immediate effect and has been replaced by Chris Kirk, currently executive vice president of Minerals & Environmental Services.
No reasons were given for Kerpelman's departure.
'I am delighted to have Chris assume the role of chief executive of the group... He has been an integral and key part of the formation and workings of the operations council in the last four years,' chairman and former CEO Sergio Marchionne commented.
'He and his team remain totally committed to the achievement of the 2008 targets,' Marchionne added.
SGS aims to increase sales to 5 bln sfr, achieve an operative margin of 17 pct and EPS of 80 sfr by 2008.
