MUNICH (AFX) - MAN AG said a US court in Oregon granted its petition to claim at least 488 mln usd from DaimlerChrysler AG's truck unit Freightliner as compensation for an accounting fraud committed by a truck company acquired by MAN.
A DaimlerChrysler spokesman said his company was 'very disappointed' at the outcome of the US ruling and will file an appeal.
A spokesman for MAN said the US decision is a further confirmation of the legal opinion that Freightliner must assume the obligation to make payments in the event of any insolvency of its Canadian unit.
