TOKYO (XFN-ASIA) - Toyota Motor Corp plans to boost global output by 400,000 units to 9.45 mln vehicles in 2007 to replace struggling US giant General Motors Corp as the world's largest automaker, the Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported, without citing sources.
The figure includes vehicles produced by two subsidiaries - small-car specialist Daihatsu Motor Co and truck maker Hino Motors Ltd.
In 2007, Toyota aims to increase parent-only output by 5 pct from 2006 levels to 8.5 mln units, supported by brisk overseas demand, the business daily said.
