WASHINGTON (AFX) - The Air Force said Friday it awarded a contract modification worth up to $32.5 million to a unit of Lockheed Martin Corp.
Colorado Springs, Colo.-based Lockheed Martin Integrated Systems and Solutions will provide continued critical operations, maintenance and support for Combatant Commander's Integrated Command and Control Systems.
The program is aimed at modernizing command and control systems of the North American Aerospace Defense Command, NORAD, and the United States Strategic Command into one integrated network.
The system warns of ballistic missile, aircraft, space and information attacks against North America, the Air Force said.
Shares of Lockheed dropped 24 cents to close at $92.07 on the New York Stock Exchange.
