SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) - Budget carrier Spirit Airlines said it will begin direct flights between Puerto Rico's capital of San Juan and Atlantic City, New Jersey, as it increases service in the Caribbean.
The flights will be offered four times a week from May 4 to Aug. 13, the Florida-based carrier said in a statement Friday.
Spirit Airlines will also offer four flights a week between San Juan and Tampa, Florida, on May 4. From June 14 to Aug. 12, that service will be increased to five days a week.
A company spokeswoman did not immediately return a call seeking comment on the service.
Spirit Airlines announced earlier this year that it would begin direct flights from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to Haiti in March, and the Dutch island of St. Maarten in April.
