NEW YORK (AP) - Maserati's 2008 GranTurismo had its North America debut on Thursday at the New York International Auto Show.
Jeff Ehoodin, public relations manager for the automaker, said the new vehicle combines the best design and styling aspects of Maserati's past, with modern technology.
The revamped 4.2 liter V-8 engine sits low and behind the front axle, producing 405 horsepower.
The GranTurismo boasts a maximum speed of 177 miles-per-hour and can go from zero to 60 miles-per-hour in 5.1 seconds.
Interior features include a 7-inch color screen connected to a 30-gigabyte hard disc-based information and navigation system. The radio, navigation and phone can all be controlled through voice commands, and a Bose surround-sound system capable of storing up to 180 hours of music comes standard.
