TOKYO (XFN-ASIA) - The Tokyo Stock Exchange plans to create a market for classes of shares other than common stock, in an effort to broaden choices for investors and sources of financing for companies, the Nikkei business daily reported, without citing sources.
The TSE will soon begin studying guidelines for the screening of listing applications for special-class stocks, such as nonvoting preferred stock, the newspaper said.
The market will likely be established as early as this year, it added.
