WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - The titanium technologies unit of chemicals company DuPont said Thursday it is raising its price worldwide for all grades of DuPont Florida Zircon by $50 per ton.
The price increase will be effective as of July 1 or as permitted by contract.
The increase is based on strong demand for DuPont Florida Zircon products, increases in energy and fuel costs and higher operating costs.
Florida zircon is a naturally occurring sand used in ceramic coatings and high-temperature applications.
DuPont shares declined 61 cents to finish at $50.37.
