ZURICH (Thomson Financial) - Meyer Burger Technology AG sees further potential to improve EBIT margins, after reporting that growth is running ahead of plan, said chief financial officer Michel Hirschi.
'It is too early to hike our guidance, but we do think there is further potential,' Hirschi told Thomson Financial News.
Hirschi said that one-off costs relating to the Swiss saw manufacturer's relocation this year are still weighing on EBIT margins.
The chief financial offer said the group's boost in new orders -- which saw its order book grow threefold to more than 450 mln sfr in the six months to June -- was primarily driven by contracts in the solar segment.
'While we have seen an increase in all segments, growth is primarily driven by orders in the solar segment, which will contribute more than 70 pct of the group's total sales,' he said.
In terms of regions, China is currently the key growth driver with three of the group's largest orders this year so far coming from there, Hirschi said. johanna.treeck@thomson.com jmt/lce COPYRIGHT Copyright AFX News Limited 2007.
