COPENHAGEN (Thomson Financial) - Danish prime minister Fogh Rasmussen's government today appointed a number of new ministers following last week's parliamentary election.
Of the eight new ministers, only two come from positions outside the previous government; MPs Birthe Roenn Hornbech and Troels Lund Poulsen, who are appointed respectively integration and church minister, and environmental minister.
Lars Loekke Rasmussen from Prime Minister Fogh Rasmussen's liberal party Venstre is appointed new finance minister, after previously being minister of interior and health.
Connie Hedegaard is appointed climate and energy minister, Carina Christensen transport minister, Jakob Axel Nielsen health minister, Karen Jespersen welfare and equality minister, and Bertel Haarder minister of education and Nordic cooperation.
