ZURICH (Thomson Financial) - Swiss aircraft manufacturer Pilatus Flugzeugwerke AG is planning an IPO for the first or second quarter of 2008, Swiss finance bi-weekly Finanz und Wirtschaft reported without disclosing its sources.
The timing would be ideal and business is going well but the company's management has so far been reluctant to comment on the issue, the newspaper said.
But according to Peter Ruof, board member and representative of major investor Blackwood Capital, there is a need for larger investments and that Swiss aircraft maker will have to consider whether this can be achieved with existing shareholders, Finanz und Wirtschaft said.
Pilatus first planned an IPO three years ago after receiving first orders for its PC-21 military training aircraft from the armed forces of Singapore and Switzerland. andrew.ge.thompson@thomson.com at/lht COPYRIGHT Copyright Thomson Financial News Limited 2007.
