LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Aviva PLC could abandon the planned distribution of the 5 bln stg surplus from its Norwich Union with-profits funds if the process drags on or threatens its reputation, The Mail on Sunday reported.
The report said the move would dash hopes of a windfall for around 1.1 mln policyholders. The insurer is cited as telling The Mail on Sunday it could put off the scheme for several years, abandon it altogether or bypass policyholder advocate Clare Spottiswoode and present offers directly to policyholders. rhys.jones@thomson.com rj/vs COPYRIGHT Copyright Thomson Financial News Limited 2007.
