PARIS Thomson Financial - Thomson SA said its chairman Frank Dangeard will leave the company after it decided to split his dual role of chairman and chief executive officer.
Thomson also said it expects its first-quarter revenue to have suffered a 'sharp decrease' from the year-ago period because of reduced orders from broadband operators and the effect of the Hollywood writers strike on its film services business, according to a statement on the company's website.
Second-quarter sales will fall short of the year before, though they will have a 'more positive evolution' than the first quarter, it said.
Dangeard declined the board's offer to remain as chairman alone. He will remain chairman until April 12 at the latest, it said. The company decided last month to separate the posts.
Chief financial officer Julian Waldron will take on the duties of CEO on an interim basis, it said.
