BOSTON (Thomson Financial) - GenVec Inc. Wednesday said it received a grant valued at $546,000 over two-years from the National Eye Institute to explore mechanisms regulating pigment epithelium-derived factor, a key regulator of blood vessel growth in the eye.
The company said the research conducted under the grant may lead to the discovery and testing of improved strategies to treat neovascular diseases of the eye.
