RIYADH, Nov 2 (Reuters) - Saudi Arabia, the world's top crude exporter, has named Khalid al-Falih as president and chief executive of state oil giant Saudi Aramco, a company statement said on Sunday.
Falih, a nearly 30-year company veteran who is executive vice president of operations, was appointed by Oil Minister Ali al-Naimi and will take up his new posts on Jan. 1, 2009.
Falih will replace Abdallah Jumah, who has decided to retire after serving for 14 years as president and CEO of the oil company, the statement said.
