CANBERRA, Nov 5 (Reuters) - Australian Treasurer Wayne Swan will update the government's official economic forecasts at a media conference in Canberra at 2330 GMT (10:30 a.m. local time), his office said on Wednesday.
In his May budget, Swan forecast the economy to grow at 2.75 percent for 2008/09, but has since said growth would be slower due to the global financial crisis.
Swan in May forecast a surplus of A$21.7 billion ($15.2 billion) for 2008/09, but last month announced an emergency A$10.4 billion of spending on a stimulus package to help protect Australia from the impact of the global crisis.
