NEW YORK, Nov 5 (Reuters) - Shell Oil said on Wednesday that its operated production in the Gulf of Mexico, was now about 375,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd) following Hurricane Ike.
'Shell operated Gulf of Mexico assets normally produce peak rates of about 500,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day,' the company said in a statement on its website, referring to production that includes assets owned by other companies.
Shell's net Gulf of Mexico peak production, the company's interest in operated and nonoperated production, normally runs in the 350,000 boepd range and is currently at approximately 300,000 boepd, the statement said.
Shell had shut all of its Gulf of Mexico output in mid-September ahead of Hurricane Ike and in mid-October the company reported production was at 325,000 boepd.
