SYDNEY, Nov 17 (Reuters) - Australian stocks are expected to
start mildly lower on Monday, pushed down by a fall in Wall
Street on worries about the deepening of a global economic slump.
The Group of 20 leaders from major developed and emerging economies pledged rapid action to tackle the financial crisis at a weekend summit in Washington, but fell short of announcing any new measures or major regulatory breakthroughs, see: .
December share price index futures dropped 64 points to 3,693.0, a 55.1 point discount to the 3,748.1 close of the underlying S&P/ASX 200 index on Friday.
On Friday, the benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index gained 1.4 percent as miners rallied.
Building materials group James Hardie Industries NV will announce its second-quarter results on Monday.
