TORONTO, Nov 27 (Reuters) - Canadian Finance Minister Jim Flaherty said on Thursday the government will have to spend more to stimulate the domestic economy if the global economy worsens, and that could push the federal budget into deficit.
'Every day brings new news, we're being cautious and sensible in what we're doing,' Flaherty said on CITY-TV in Toronto. He made the remarks after presenting a fiscal update in Ottawa that projected small surpluses in the coming years.
He also said a full federal budget could be introduced in late January at the earliest, but he expects it will happen in February 'at the latest.'
