WELLINGTON, Dec 5 (Reuters) - Asian shares are set to fall on
Friday after Wall Street suffered another late sell-off and a
gloomy world economic outlook returns to the fore.
Energy stocks were the hardest hit in the U.S. after oil prices fell to their lowest in nearly four years, while downbeat forecasts from blue-chip stocks added to the sour mood.
Major U.S. stock indices all fell more than 2.5 percent. Nikkei share average futures traded in Chicago slumped 4.6 percent, pointing to a hefty opening loss in Japan.
The run of bleak U.S. economic data continued, with U.S. factory orders falling and jobless rolls hitting a 26-year peak.
The euro zone and British central banks both delivered big interest rate cuts, as expected, buoying the euro and sterling on the view it will help support economic recovery prospects.
