BRUSSELS, Jan 11 (Reuters) - EU Commission chief Jose Manuel Barroso and Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko have agreed to address Russian concerns over Ukrainian additions to a deal to restore gas to Europe, the Commission said on Sunday.
Moscow earlier called on the EU to urge Kiev to withdraw a handwritten attachment to an agreement between the sides to allow monitors to check on the flow of gas.
'Mr Barroso has called Mrs Tymoshenko and has agreed with her to separate the two documents. They are working out how to make a new terms of reference without a link to the (Ukrainian) declaration,' a Commission spokesman said.
'The Commission still considers the declaration has no effect on the validity of the terms of reference signed by Ukraine, Russia and the EU,' he added.
