SYDNEY, March 2 (Reuters) - Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Ltd Chief Executive Mike Smith said on Monday talk of ANZ hiring Credit Suisse to advise on potential acquisitions in Asia was 'market speculation'.
Smith made the remarks to Reuters at the sidelines of a conference.
Sources told Reuters late on Sunday, ANZ had hired Credit Suisse for a potential $2 billion buy of Royal Bank of Scotland's Asian operations..
