The global restructuring, consulting, and financial advisory firm named Susan Brown and Richard Holmes as directors in its information management services practice, based in Dallas. Brown joined from ICH Corp, while Holmes was a partner at Andersen LLP.
NIXON PEABODY
Partner Philip Taub will lead the law firm's national and international mergers & acquisitions practice. The newly formed practice combines the firm's private company transactions group and venture capital, emerging growth & technology group.
ALVAREZ & MARSAL
The restructuring firm named former PricewaterhouseCoopers' managing director Art Barrios as a senior director in its New York-based business consulting practice.
BARCLAYS PLC
Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of Barclays Bank PLC, appointed David Lau as managing director, investment banking China, based in Hong Kong.
Lau joins Barclays Capital from Citigroup Inc where he worked for 10 years, and last held the position of managing director, telecom, media and technology.
LAZARD LTD
The financial advisory and asset management firm named Antonio Weiss, a banker in its Paris office, to the new position of global head of mergers and acquisitions, the Wall Street Journal reported.
SWISS RE
Credit Suisse Group AG Chairman Walter Kielholz relinquished his post at Switzerland's No. 2 bank to become chairman of troubled reinsurer Swiss Reinsurance Co Ltd , which has turned to Warren Buffett for cash after a hefty loss.
GLOBAL INVESTMENT HOUSE
Kuwait's Global Investment House KSCC shares rose as much as 3.8 percent on Monday after the firm said it appointed a new chief executive as part of a restructuring plan.
MCCARTHY CAPITAL
Robert Emmert joined the private equity firm as a partner to manage the Eastern U.S. region from the firm's Boston office.
Emmert joins McCarthy Capital after twelve years with Alta Communications, where he was a general partner.
UNICREDIT MENKUL DEGERLER AS
The Turkish investment banking company, a unit of Koc Financial Services, named Kaan Basaran as CEO and member of the board of directors.
Kaan Basaran was a managing director and CEO of Credit Suisse in Turkey, since June 2006.
