RBS
The part-nationalized lender named Peter Najarian, formerly managing director and head of Asia-Pacific fixed income client coverage at UBS, as global head of local markets sales within its global banking and markets unit. To be based in Stamford, Connecticut, Najarian will report to Brian Reid, RBS's global head of institutional coverage, research and strategy and to Garry Cottle, global head of corporate risk solutions for GBM.
HSBC HOLDINGS PLC
Europe's biggest bank named Paulo Maia as the next chief executive of its Australian operations, replacing Stuart Davis, who will move to India to head Hongkong & Shanghai Banking Corp operations in that country.
Maia, who is currently deputy chief executive of HSBC's business in Brazil, will take up the top job in Australia from July 1.
PRICEWATERHOUSECOOPERS LLP
The accounting firm named Ashley Unwin as head of performance improvement consulting (PIC) practice.
Unwin succeeds Jeff Thompson, who will lead its PIC businesses in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India.
CATTLES PLC
The subprime lender announced the retirement of its Chairman Norman Broadhurst.
The company also said it hired Paul Mackin as chief operating officer for its Welcome Financial Services unit.
HENDERSON GLOBAL INVESTORS
The unit of Anglo-Australian asset manager Henderson Group named Cameron Fraser as fund manager of Henderson UK Property Fund, succeeding Ludo MacKenzie, who is leaving the company in July.
PERELLA WEINBERG
The boutique investment bank said Robert Maguire has joined as a partner in its corporate advisory group.
Most recently, he was at Basin Capital Partners, an energy focused private equity firm, where he will continue to serve on the advisory board. Prior to this, Maguire was an investment banker with Morgan Stanley's energy group for 21 years.
INVESTEC CAPITAL MARKETS
The unit of South African investment bank and asset manager Investec appointed Andrew Lillywhite as head of its structured solutions team. Andrew joins from Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander where he was heading treasury sales team.
OVERLAY ASSET MANAGEMENT
The currency management company, which is part of French banking group BNP Paribas, appointed Philip Bond as head of research. Bond has earlier worked for Credit Suisse and JP Morgan as an arbitrage trader.
