WASHINGTON, July 14 (Reuters) - The U.S. Senate Finance Committee plans to meet Thursday morning to discuss healthcare reform, a committee spokesman said on Tuesday.
The Senate panel, which has jurisdiction over ways to pay for much of the expansion in healthcare coverage, is under pressure from President Barack Obama to complete work quickly to allow a vote in the full Senate before the August congressional recess.
