LONDON, Aug 4 (Reuters) - Invesco's Pan European
High Income fund was the top performer among British-registered absolute return
funds in July, data from Thomson Reuters fund research firm Lipper showed on
Tuesday.
The fund managed by John Surplice and Paul Causer led the sector for the second time in three months. It has about three quarters of its portfolio in fixed income, and had a top-10 investment in troubled chemicals group Ineos at end-June, Lipper data showed.
David Cornell and Henry Thornton's Oriental Focus fund at boutique firm BDT was the only other fund in the month to post returns of more than 10 percent.
A pair of Threadneedle-managed World Express emerging markets funds brought up the rear in July, among only a handful of absolute return funds posting negative returns.
Following are tables of the best and worst performers in July among absolute return funds listed in the Lipper Global indices and registered for sale in Britain. The tables strip out smaller players and comprise primary mutual funds. Performance is calculated in sterling.
