LONDON, Aug 4 (Reuters) - A BNP Paribas energy and base metals fund was the
top performer among British-registered commodities funds in July, data from
Thomson Reuters fund research firm Lipper showed on Tuesday.
The fund, managed by specialist unit Harewood, returned close to 15 percent in the month, followed by the Melchior Selected Trust Resources fund and BlackRock's world mining fund.
The Guiness Global Energy fund brought up the rear along with a Deutsche Bank agriculture fund, a Morgan Stanley product and BlackRock's world gold fund.
Following are tables of the best and worst performers in July among the commodities funds registered for sale in Britain. They include direct investment funds and those listed in the Lipper Global equity indices for gold and precious metals and natural resources. The tables strip out smaller players and comprise primary mutual funds. Performance is calculated in sterling.
