NEW YORK, Aug 23 (Reuters) - Wedbush Morgan's stock recommendations outperformed those of a dozen rivals whose focus lists were tracked by Barron's for the year's first six months, the newspaper said in its Aug. 24 edition.
The picks of Los Angeles-based Wedbush's picks rose 23.43 percent, while McAdams Wright Ragen's picks were second-best, rising 20.24 percent, the newspaper said. Edward Jones brought up the rear at 3.33 percent, the newspaper said.
The average return for brokers surveyed was 10.65 percent. The Standard & Poor's 500 generated a total return of 3.16 percent for the period, meaning that all brokers' focus lists outperformed the index, the newspaper said.
