WASHINGTON, Sept 2 (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama told Japan's next leader, Yukio Hatoyama, that he wanted to work together on the global economic recovery and combating climate change, the White House said on Wednesday.
'President Obama and Mr. Hatoyama stressed the importance of a strong U.S.-Japan alliance and their desire to build an even more effective partnership,' the White House said in astatement after the two leaders spoke by telephone.
