OSLO, Sept 14 (Reuters) - Norway's centre-left government
was set to retain power with a tiny majority after an election
on Monday, according to an official projection based on 81
percent of the votes counted.
The forecast, by the Ministry of Local and Regional Government, indicated that the three-party coalition of Labour, the Socialist Left and the Centre Party would get 86 seats out of 169 in parliament. Opposition centrist and right-wing parties would win 83.
The projections, updated every few minutes, mostly pointed to a narrow government majority after sometimes showing a small swing to the opposition. In the last election in 2005, the coalition also won 87 seats and the opposition 82.
